CARPOOL NOTICE FOR 16-22 MILERS

16-22 milers carpooling from points north. Carpools leaving GZLs HQ 5:15-5:30 to get up north for first running steps around 5:45am. 18-22 milers leaving from Big Lots parking lot at Spicewood Springs @ 183. 16 milers leave from Randall’s parking lot at Braker @ Jollyville.

As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. Touring most of the old school 3M course this week. NOTE: This week is point to point for those going 16 or so and longer. Prepare your carpool plans now. 14 and under going out and back from GZLs HQ.

OUT AND BACK

3 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Turn around at 11th @ San Jacinto, and return back to Congress, left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to MLK. Turn around at MLK, and return up San Jacinto alongside the capitol grounds. Up up up to 11th Street, then right on 11th over to Congress, left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ. 

5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto down to 17th. CONSTRUCTION DETOUR: Left on 17th one block to Brazos. Right on Brazos up to MLK. Right on MLK over to San Jacinto. Left on San Jac into campus. Turn around at south end of football palace, and retrace your steps home. San Jac back down to MLK. Take a right up MLK one block to Brazos. Left on Brazos two blocks until it ends at 17th. Left on 17th back over to San Jacinto. From there right on San Jacinto, and continue San Jacinto up up past the Capitol grounds, and take a right on 11th Street, over to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

Take a right up MLK one block to Brazos. Left on Brazos two blocks until it ends at 17th. Left on 17th back over to San Jacinto. From there right on San Jacinto, and continue San Jacinto up up past the Capitol grounds, and take a right on 11th Street, over to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd, to Trader Joe's, and back to HQ.

Right on the access road to and under 183, looping to the south of 183, then access to Shoal Creek. Right on Shoal Creek down all the way to Foster. Right on Foster over to Great Northern. Left on Great Northern down to White Rock. Left on White Rock to Shoal Creek. Right down Shoal Creek to 45th. Left on 45th across town to Duval. Right on Duval down to merge with San Jacinto. San Jac to and through UT campus. At bottom campus, veer right at talking oil derrick to MLK. CONSTRUCTION DETOUR: Take a right up MLK one block to Brazos. THE MARATHONS

Oct 12th-13th (Hudson River, Chicago): Run smart, run with joy. If Chicago, be careful when ordering the celebratory deep dish pizza. Ask your waitress for the proper amount to order. 

Oct 20th (Detroit): Taper madness finishes. 8-12 miles, with last 4 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 27th (MCM / M2M Marathons): Taper madness week 2. 12-16 miles, with last 6 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace. Carpool 5:15-5:30am from HQ to get up north to Randall’s (Braker @ Jollyville) for 16 miles. 14 miles is out and back from HQ starting 5:45am.

Nov 2-3 (Revel Mt., NYC): Taper madness begins. 14-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Use honest MGP, but start easy, and finish at race pace. Carpool 5:15-5:30am from HQ to get up north to Big Lots parking lot for 18 miles, Randall’s for 16 miles. 14 miles is out and back from HQ starting 5:45am.

Nov 10th (Outer Banks): Last loooonnnggg run. 20-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 22 mile max. Carpool 5:15-5:30am from HQ to get up north to Big Lots parking lot.

Nov. 16th (Richmond): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Nov 24th (Phillie): 18-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max. Carpool 5:15-5:30am from HQ to get up north to Big Lots parking lot.

Dec 8th (CIM, BCS, San Antonio, Honolulu): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 20 mile max. Carpool 5:15-5:30am from HQ to get up north to Big Lots parking lot for 18 miles, Randall’s for 16 miles.

Dec 15th (Dallas White Rock): 12-14 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Jan 12th 2020 (Disney Dopey Challenge): 10-12 miles recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Jan 18th 2020 (REVEL Hawaii, Houston): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Feb 9th 2020 (Galveston): 8-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
