Saturday Long Run

10-24 milers leaving from Gazelles HQ at 6:00am.

Beginners and 5-8 milers go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am.

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We're touring the South Austin marathon start this week, plus Enfield Triangle and Exposition and trail for those going longer.

3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.

7 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over towards Trader Joe's, and up to 3rd Street. 3rd over to Congress. South (right) on Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Lightsey. Right on Lightsey over to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ. 

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over towards Trader Joe's, and up to 3rd Street. 3rd over to Congress. South (right) on Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Krebs Lane, just a short block from the Hwy 71 access road. Right on Krebs, around sweeping left hand turn, and then right onto Hwy 71 access road.  Access road (sidewalk, please!!) up to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ. 

10.5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over towards Trader Joe's, and up to 3rd Street. 3rd over to Congress. South (right) on Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Krebs Lane, just a short block from the Hwy 71 access road. Right on Krebs, around sweeping left hand turn, and then right onto Hwy 71 access road.  Access road (sidewalk, please!!) up to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Mopac, where you will cross to northside trail, and straight back to HQ. For 10 miles on the nose, feel free to ease your running to a cooldown jog around the baseball field at Austin High School.

12 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over towards Trader Joe's, and up to 3rd Street. 3rd over to Congress. South (right) on Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Congress down to Krebs Lane, just a short block from the Hwy 71 access road. Right on Krebs, around sweeping left hand turn, and then right onto Hwy 71 access road.  Access road (sidewalk, please!!) up to S. First. Right on S. First all the way to Auditorium Shores and southside trail. SS trail to Mopac, to Veterans, and LA Blvd. LA Blvd out Exposition. Turn around at Exposition, and return LA Blvd back to Mopac. You will stay on northside trail, and straight back to HQ. 

14 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over towards Trader Joe's, and up to 3rd Street. 3rd over to Congress. South (right) on Congress. Cross LB Lake on Congress bridge, and continue S. Left on Expo up to Westover. Turn around at Westover, and return Exposition all the way to LA Blvd, back to Mopac. You will stay on northside trail, and straight back to HQ.

THE MARATHONS:

Feb 18th (Austin): Taper madness begins. 16-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Start nice and relaxed, and then cruise last 8 miles at honest Marathon Goal Pace. Check with Coach if you're not sure how fast to go. Start time 6:00am.

Feb 25th (Cowtown, Mesa, Tokyo): 20-24 miles. The last looooooonnngg run. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 24 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

March 4th (Napa, New Orleans): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

March 18th (Big D): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

April 16th (Boston): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

April 22nd (London): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 6:00am.

April 29th (Eugene): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 6:00am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 6:00am.
