Saturday Long Run - Cap 10K plus Scenic, Bonnell, Balcones, Hancock, Bull Creek

START TIMES:

Everybody leaves HQ at 5:45am.

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We will be using the Capitol 10K course for those tapering for that race, and adding some Mt. Bonnell and other stuff for those going longer.

THE ROUTES

3 Miles: Your map is here. This starts with basically a taste of the  Cap 10K course. Leave HQ to northside trail over to Congress. Take Congress up to 11th. Turn around at 11th, and return Congress down to 3rd St. Right on 3rd Street over to Seaholm and Trader Joe's, and to Electric, and back to GZLs HQ. 

4 Miles: Your map is here. This starts with basically a taste of the Cap 10K course. Leave HQ to northside trail over to Congress. Take Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, over to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto up to 11th. Right on 11th to Congress. Left on Congress down to 3rd St. Right on 3rd Street over to Seaholm and Trader Joe's, and to Electric, and back to GZLs HQ.

Left on 13th over to Colorado. Right on Colorado around to 11th. Left on 11th to Congress. Right on Congress down to northside trail and back to GZLs HQ. 

7 Miles: Your map is here. This starts with basically the Cap 10K course. Leave HQ to northside trail over to Congress. Take Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Exposition. Left on Expo down to LA Blvd, then left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, to northside trail and back to GZLs HQ.

Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Left to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, to northside trail and back to GZLs HQ.

Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Left to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, and to southside trail over to First St. bridge, crossing to northside trail and back to GZLs HQ. 

12 Miles: Your map is here. This starts with basically the Cap 10K course. Leave HQ to northside trail over to Congress. Take Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Right on Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Turn around at that stop sign.  Climb back up Scenic to Stephenson. Left on Stephenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor to Cherry. Right on Cherry to Scenic and to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, and to southside trail over to First St. bridge, crossing to northside trail and back to GZLs HQ. 

14 Miles: Your map is here. This starts with basically the Cap 10K course. Leave HQ to northside trail over to Congress. Take Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Right on Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up to the hard right hand corner where the dormitory house is on your right. Turn around at that hard corner, and retrace your steps down Mt. Bonnell Road back to 35th, left on 35 back to Pecos. Right on Pecos back down to Scenic. Right on Scenic, around to hard right turn onto Scenic along river. Up up Scenic up to Stephenson. Left on Stephenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor to Cherry. Right on Cherry to Scenic and to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, and northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Right on Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road north to the first right hand street after the water stop, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on Mt. Bonnell Drive, to the stop sign at Balcones. After tapping the street sign there, turn around and retrace your steps to Mt. Bonnell Road, down Bonnell to 35th. Left on 35th back to Pecos. Right on Pecos back down to Scenic. Right on Scenic, around to hard right turn onto Scenic along river. Up up Scenic up to Stephenson. Left on Stephenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor to Cherry. Right on Cherry to Scenic and to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac. Cross to southside trail, and take trail over to Pfluger footbridge back to GZLs HQ.

Right on 11th, left on San Jacinto, then right on 12th over to Trinity. Left on Trinity up to 15th. Left on 15th, and take 15th all the way across town to Mopac. Go under Mopac, and then continue 15th over to Scenic (Mozart's corner). Right on Scenic to Cherry. Wind around to Rockmoor. Left on Rockmoor up to Stevenson. Left on Stevenson over to Scenic. Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road north to the first right hand street after the water stop, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on Mt. Bonnell Drive, across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont until a hard left hand corner at Glen Rose Drive. Left on Glen Rose up to name change to Madrona Drive, and to Balcones. Right on Balcones up to Hancock. Right on Hancock to Bull Creek. Right on Bull Creek down to right hand veer onto Jackson. Jackson to 35th, and right up and over Mopac back to Pecos. Left on Pecos back down to Scenic. Right on Scenic, around to hard right turn onto Scenic along river. Up up Scenic up to Stephenson. Left on Stephenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor to Cherry. Right on Cherry to Scenic and to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, and northside trail back to GZLs HQ.

Scenic down along river to hard right corner, which takes you back to Scenic. Left on Scenic at stop sign. Scenic around to Pecos. Left on Pecos up to 35th. Left on 35th over to Mt. Bonnell Road. Right on Mt. Bonnell Road up, up, up to parking lot and base of steps. Continue on Mt. Bonnell Road north to the first right hand street after the water stop, which is Mt. Bonnell Drive. Right on Mt. Bonnell Drive, across Balcones to Edgemont Drive. Left on Edgemont until a hard left hand corner at Glen Rose Drive. Left on Glen Rose up to name change to Madrona Drive, and to Balcones. Right on Balcones up to Hancock. Right on Hancock to Bull Creek. Hit the water stop 20 yards down Bull Creek, and then return to Hancock over to Shoal Creek for a short out and back. Left on Shoal Creek up to 2222/Northland, and turn around at 2222/Northland, returning Shoal Creek to Hancock and right over to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek down to right hand veer onto Jackson. Jackson to 35th, and right up and over Mopac back to Pecos. Left on Pecos back down to Scenic. Right on Scenic, around to hard right turn onto Scenic along river. Up up Scenic up to Stephenson. Left on Stephenson over to Rockmoor. Right on Rockmoor to Cherry. Right on Cherry to Scenic and to Lake Austin Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac, and northside trail back to GZLs HQ. 

THE MARATHONS

April 14th (Paris/Brighton): 12-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

April 15th (Boston): 12-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

April 27th/28th (Revel/Waco/Big Sur/Eugene/London): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

May 5th (Toronto, Vancouver, Avenue of the Giants): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 20 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

May 18th (Beach to Bay): 14-18 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

June 2nd (San Diego): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

June 9th (Tunnel Marathon): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

June 22nd (Grandma's): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles!  This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

April 7th (Cap 10K): 7-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

April 7th (Cherry Blossom 10 miler): 5-8 mile recovery long run. Start time 5:45am.

April 7th (San Francisco RnR Half): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
