Saturday Long Run - CARPOOL ALERT (16-20 milers) Point to Point from 183 @ Spicewood. 0-14 milers going out and back from HQ Expo to Bull Creek.

CARPOOL NOTICE FOR 16-24 MILERS

START TIMES:

CARPOOL ALERT: 16-24 milers carpooling from points north. Carpools leaving GZLs HQ 5:15-5:30 to get up north for first running steps around 5:45am. 16-24 milers leaving from Big Lots parking lot at Spicewood Springs @ 183.

0-14 milers leaving Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.

THE MAPS

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. Longest runners (16-24 miles) are going point to point from points north, finishing via Shoal Creek to 35th to Expo, and the longest runners get a Lollipop stinger at the end of their morning. It's Boston time of year, kids. The rest of us are touring Exposition/Bull Creek route, out and back from HQ.

3 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Mopac. Cross to southside trail, and return to Pfluger footbridge on trail, then back to HQ.

4 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Lake Austin Blvd over to Exposition. Turn around there, and retrace your steps home (LA Blvd back to Mopac, to northside trail, and back to HQ.)

5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to northside trail, over to Mopac. Veterans up to Lake Austin Blvd. Right on Exposition, up to Enfield. Turn around there, and retrace your steps home (Exposition back down to LA Blvd. Back to Mopac, to northside trail, and back to HQ.)

Left on Jollyville to Mesa. Right on Mesa down to Far West. Left on Far West down to Balcones (access road along Mopac). Right on Balcones down all the way to Hancock. Left on Hancock over to Bull Creek. Right on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Veer right on Jackson down to 35th. Right on 35th over to Exposition. RIGHT on Stonelake down to Capital of Texas Highway. Right on Cap Texas Hwy, carefully crossing over Mopac on the walkway to access road, left over to church, right up to Jollyville again. Left on Jollyville to Mesa. Right on Mesa down to Far West. Left on Far West down to Balcones (access road along Mopac). Right on Balcones down all the way to Hancock. Left on Hancock over to Bull Creek. Right on Bull Creek down to Jackson. Veer right on Jackson down to 35th. Right on 35th over to Exposition. Left on Expo down to LA Blvd. Left on LA Blvd back to Mopac. Cross to southside trail, around and across footbridge over Barton Creek, and take a right after the footbridge, veering under Barton Springs Road, through the park to Barton Hills Drive. Barton Hills Drive up all the way to Barton Skyway. Continue BH Drive, and take the lollipop top by hanging to the right as you go in the big circle again intersecting with BH Drive. Right on BH Drive, back across Barton Hills Skyway, through the park, to southside trail, to Pfluger footbridge, and back to HQ.

24 Miles:  Those training for Boston who are doing 24 miles, use the 22 mile route posted above and add 2 miles via your choice of one of the options below:

- Out and back from LAB and Exposition (mile 14.5): Turn right on LAB from Exposition and go to the boat ramp (Enfield and LAB) where you'll turn around and go back to pick up the original 22 mile route back LAB / Exposition

- Trail to Congress bridge after the lollipop (Barton Hills Drive) (mile 21+): After returning to southside trail, head east, to Congress. Cross to the north side trail on Congress bridge and head back to HQ.

NOTE: Choose only one of these to add the additional 2 miles to the above posted 22 mile route, for a total of 24 miles.

 THE MARATHONS

April 14th (Paris/Brighton): 20-24 miles. The last loooooonnngggg run. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 24 mile max. CARPOOL: Gather at HQ for carpool 5:15-5:30am to travel up to Big Lots parking at Spicewood Springs and 183 for 20-24 miles.

April 15th (Boston): 20-24 miles. The last loooooonnngggg run. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 24 mile max. CARPOOL: Gather at HQ for carpool 5:15-5:30am to travel up to Big Lots parking at Spicewood Springs and 183 for 20-24 miles.

April 27th/28th (Revel/Waco/Big Sur/Eugene/London): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. CARPOOL: Gather at HQ for carpool 5:15-5:30am to travel up to Big Lots parking at Spicewood Springs and 183 for 18-22 miles.

May 5th (Toronto, Vancouver, Avenue of the Giants): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

May 18th (Beach to Bay): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

June 2nd (San Diego): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off from last week. Start time 5:45am.

June 9th (Tunnel Marathon): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. For 16 miles, you'll want to meet the 18-24 mile crew at HQ at 5:15-5:30am, to carpool up to Big Lots parking lot at 183 and Spicewood. 12-14 Miles, you'll be going out and back from HQ, start time 5:45am.

June 22nd (Grandma's): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

July 28th (San Francisco): 7-10 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 10 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles!  This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

April 7th (Cap 10K): 7-10 miles, last 3 miles hard (10K pace). Taper madness begins. Start time 5:45am.

April 7th (Cherry Blossom 10 miler): 12 miles, last 4 miles hard (race pace). Taper madness begins.

April 7th (San Francisco RnR Half): 8-13 miles, last 5 miles @ HMGP. Taper madness begins. Start time 5:45am.

April 28th (Eugene Half): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
