Saturday Long Run

START TIMES:

10-22 milers leaving from Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.

5-8 milers and beginners go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am.

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We're touring the out and back route including Congress, UT, Duval, and parts north of there as needed this Saturday.

3 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Pfluger footbridge to Mopac trail loop.

4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.

5 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise Congress bridge to Mopac trail loop.

7 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 38th. Turn around at 38th/Duval. From there, retrace your steps back home (Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down to 3rd Street. Right on 3rd Street and over to Trader Joe's and then GZLs HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 45th. Turn around at 45th/Duval. From there, retrace your steps back home (Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down to 3rd Street. Right on 3rd Street and over to Trader Joe's and then GZLs HQ.

10 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 51st. Left on 51st over to Guadalupe (UT Intramural fields), and then left down Guadalupe to 46th Street. Left on 46th over to Avenue H. Right on Avenue H down to 45th. Left on 45th over to Duval. From there, retrace your steps back home (Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down to 3rd Street. Right on 3rd Street and over to Trader Joe's and then GZLs HQ.

12.5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ over to Trader Joe's, up to 3rd Street, and over to Congress. Left on Congress up to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 51st. Left on 51st over to Guadalupe (UT Intramural fields), and right on Guadalupe up to North Loop. Left on North Loop over to Woodrow. Right on Woodrow up to Houston and the water stop. Turn around at Houston, and retrace your path all the way back to Congress (Woodrow, North Loop, Guadalupe, 51st, Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down to 3rd Street. Right on 3rd Street and over to Trader Joe's and then GZLs HQ. NOTE: For 12 more exactly, turn around at Woodrow and North Loop, without going up to the water stop at Houston. You'll be 4 miles between water stops, but it would not be a big deal if you want to chop the route down a bit.

Left on San Jacinto to and through UT campus. San Jacinto to Duval, and veer right on Duval. Duval up to 51st. Left on Romeria to Arroyo Seco. Turn around at Arroyo Seco, and retrace your path all the way back to Congress (Romeria, Woodrow, North Loop, Guadalupe, 51st, Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down to 3rd Street. Right on 3rd Street and over to Trader Joe's and then GZLs HQ.

Left on Foster out to Shoal Creek. Turn around at Shoal Creek, and retrace your path all the way back to Congress (Foster, Northcross Dr, St. Joseph/Morrow, Woodrow, Arroyo Seco, Romeria, Woodrow, North Loop, Guadalupe, 51st, Duval, UT, San Jacinto, 11th, to Congress). Congress down and across LB Lake on Congress bridge to southside trail. Curl under to SS trail back to Pfluger footbridge, and up and over to GZLs HQ.

THE MARATHONS

July 14th (King Salmon): Taper madness begins. 14-18 miles, with last 8 @ MGP. Start time 5:45am.

July 29th (San Francisco): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

August 19th (Tunnel Vision): 16-20 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

September 8th (Patagonia): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

September 16th (Berlin): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 18 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

September 23rd (Buenos Aires): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

September 30th (Portland (ME), Wineglass): 10-14 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

October 6th, 7th (St. George, Chicago): 10-12 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

October 20th (Brooklyn): 9-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

October 27th, 28th (M2M, Marine Corps): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles!  This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

June 23rd (Santa Barbara Half): Run smart, run with joy!

September 22nd (Seawheeze Half): 5-8 mile recovery long run. Start time 6:30am.
