Saturday Long Run

START TIMES:

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. We're looping around Austin, depending on your distance. Yes, this was last week's route(s), too, but Harvey got in the way of a good time, so we bring it back this week.

4 Miles: Your map is here. This is a clockwise First St. bridge to Mopac trail loop.

5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Congress. Up Congress to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jac down to MLK. Turn around at MLK water stop, and then return San Jacinto up along Capitol to 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to and across Congress bridge to southside trail. SS trail back to Pfluger footbridge and back to GZLs HQ.

6.6 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Congress. Up Congress to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jac down to and across MLK into UT campus. San Jac through UT, to Dean Keeton at north end of campus. Turn around there, and come back San Jacinto through UT, then San Jacinto up along Capitol to 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to and across Congress bridge to southside trail. SS trail back to Pfluger footbridge and back to GZLs HQ.

8 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Congress. Up Congress to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jac down to and across MLK into UT campus. San Jac through UT, to Duval. Right on Duval up to 38th. Turn around at 38th, and return Duval to San Jacinto through UT, then San Jacinto up along Capitol to 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to and across Congress bridge to southside trail. SS trail back to Pfluger footbridge and back to GZLs HQ.

10 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Congress. Up Congress to 11th. Right on 11th up to San Jacinto. Left on San Jac down to and across MLK into UT campus. San Jac through UT, to Duval. Right on Duval up to 51st. Turn around at 51st, and return Duval to San Jacinto through UT, then San Jacinto up along Capitol to 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to north side trail, and back to GZLs HQ

12 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Mopac. Up to LA Blvd and over to Exposition. Up Expo to 35th, right on 35th up and over Mopac to Jackson. Left on Jackson to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to 45th Street. Right on 45th across town to Duval. Right on Duval. Duval all the way down to merge with San Jacinto. San Jac to and through UT campus, veering right at talking oil derrick. San Jacinto up the three hills along Capitol complex, then right on 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to Cesar Chavez, and then north side trail. Trail back to Pfluger footbridge, up and across to GZLs HQ.

14.2 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Mopac. Up to LA Blvd and over to Exposition. Up Expo to 35th, right on 35th up and over Mopac to Jackson. Left on Jackson to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to Hancock. Right on Hancock, and then veer left at Fonda San Miguel onto North Loop. Cross town on North Loop up to and across Lamar. North Loop up to name change to 53rd. Right on Duval. Duval all the way down to merge with San Jacinto. San Jac to and through UT campus, veering right at talking oil derrick. San Jacinto up the three hills along Capitol complex, then right on 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to and across Congress bridge to southside trail. Trail back to Pfluger footbridge, up and across to GZLs HQ.

16.8 Miles: Your map is here. You will track with your 14 mile brethren, above, but will diverge at the end, staying on southside trail out to Mopac, cross LB Lake, and then back to GZLs HQ via north side trail. Feel free to shut it down at the Pfluger bridge and stroll back to GZLs HQ.

18.5 Miles: Your map is here. GZLs HQ to north side trail over to Mopac. Up to LA Blvd and over to Exposition. Up Expo to 35th, right on 35th up and over Mopac to Jackson. Left on Jackson to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to Hancock. Right on Hancock to Shoal Creek. Left up Shoal Creek to 2222/Northland. Turn around there, and return Shoal Creek to Hancock. Up Expo to 35th, right on 35th up and over Mopac to Jackson. Left on Jackson to Bull Creek. Left on Bull Creek up to Hancock. Hancock right over to Shoal Creek. Shoal Creek north (left) up to and across Northland/2222, to White Rock. Left on White Rock to Great Northern. Right on GN up to Foster. Right on Foster over to Northcross Mall. Behind Northcross mall on Northcross Dr. Cross Burnett, and name change to St. Joseph and then Morrow. Right on Woodrow. Woodrow down to Arroyo Seco. Veer right onto Arroyo Seco, down to Romeria. Left on Romeria back to Woodrow. Right on Woodrow down to North Loop. Left on North Loop up to and across Lamar. North Loop up to name change to 53rd. Right on Duval. Duval all the way down to merge with San Jacinto. San Jac to and through UT campus, veering right at talking oil derrick. San Jacinto up the three hills along Capitol complex, then right on 11th. 11th over to Congress. Congress down to and across Congress bridge to southside trail. Trail back to Pfluger footbridge, up and across to GZLs HQ.

22.8 Miles: Your map is here. You will track with your 20 mile brethren, above, until reaching southside trail on the way back via Congress bridge. You will continue SS trail to Mopac, the across LB Lake, and return to GZLs HQ via north side trail.

Sept. 16th (Light At The End Of the Tunnel): Taper madness, week 2. 12-14 miles, last 6 @ MGP. Start time 5:45am from GZLs HQ.

Sept 24th (Berlin): Taper madness begins. 16-18 miles, last 8 @ MGP. Start time 5:45am from GZLs HQ.

Oct 1st (Twin Cities/Wineglass/Maine): 20-24 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 24 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 7th/8th (Chicago/St. George/Portland): 12-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 15th (Columbus): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Oct 21st/22nd (M2M, MCM, Baltimore, Toronto): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 1st (Wineglass Half):  11-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
