Saturday Long Run

START TIMES:

16-24 milers going point to point from points north (183 @ Spicewood Springs, or Gateway Cinema parking lots), with carpools leaving Gazelles HQ at 5:15-5:30am. 

10-14 milers going out and back along P2P route from Gazelles HQ at 5:45am.

Beginners and 5-8 milers go from Gazelles HQ 6:30am.

Physical therapists in the house Saturday. Take advantage of this free service if you have a nagging pain or tightness in your legs.

If you start earlier (or later) than your group's call time, please check with your pace pals to make sure your team is all starting at the same time. As always, if you start way before the scheduled start times, please take water to cover yourselves for that first water stop (or two) in case you're ahead of the logistical team. CARPOOL ALERT: 16-24 milers are going point to point from either (1) Big Lots parking at 183@Spicewood Springs, or (2) Gateway Cinema parking lot. Folks going 5-14 miles will be touring the ending miles of those longer routes, going out-and-back, leaving from GZLs HQ.

7 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Cross to southside trail. SS trail over to Mopac. Mopac up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield. Enfield over to Exposition. Right on Expo to LA Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac to north side trail, to GZLs HQ to finish.

8 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Cross to southside trail. SS trail over to Mopac. Mopac up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield. Enfield over to Exposition. Left up Expo to Windsor. Turn around at Windsor. Return Expo down all the way to LA Blvd, skipping Enfield Triangle on the way back. LA Blvd back to Mopac to north side trail, to GZLs HQ to finish.

10 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Cross to southside trail. SS trail over to Mopac. Mopac up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield. Enfield over to Exposition. Left up Expo to 35th. Turn around at 35th. Return Expo down all the way to LA Blvd, skipping Enfield Triangle on the way back. LA Blvd back to Mopac to north side trail, to GZLs HQ to finish.

12 Miles: Your map is here. Start at GZLs HQ. Cross to southside trail. SS trail over to Mopac. Mopac up to LA Blvd. LA Blvd out to Enfield. Enfield over to Exposition. Left up Expo to 35th. Turn around at 35th. Return Expo down to Enfield. Right on Enfield out to LA Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac to southside trail and back to Pfluger footbridge. Cross back to GZLs HQ to finish.

Right on 35th up and over Mopac. Left on Jackson after you cross bridge. Jackson up to Bull Creek. Turn around at Bull Creek, back to Jackson, to 35th. Over Mopac to Exposition. Expo down to Enfield. Right on Enfield out to LA Blvd. LA Blvd back to Mopac to southside trail and back to Pfluger footbridge. Cross back to GZLs HQ to finish.

Left on Great Hills over to access road along west side of 183.  Right on access road past the Arboretum, and carefully cross over Loop 360 at the light, heading towards Grace CovenantChurch. Ease right over to Jollyville, and continue to Mesa. Right on Mesa all the way to Far West. Left on Far West down to Balcones (access road along Mopac). Right on Balcones, crossing 2222, and continuing to Hancock, which is where you'll see Russell's Coffee. Left on Hancock over to Bull Creek. Right on Bull Creek down to Jackson.Veer right onto Jackson down to 35th. Right on 35th up and over Mopac to Exposition. Left on Expo down to LA Blvd. Left on LA Blvd back to Mopac, cross to southside trail. Southside trail over to Pfluger footbridge. Cross up and over LB Lake at the Pfluger footbridge to GZLs HQ.

Nov. 5th (NYC): Taper madness, week 2. 12-14 miles, last 6 @ MGP. Start time 5:45am from GZLs HQ.

Nov. 18th (Philly): 20-24 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 24 mile max. CARPOOL Leaving GZLs HQ 5:15-5:30 to get up to points north.

Dec 3rd (CIM, San Antonio): 18-22 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 22 mile max. CARPOOL Leaving GZLs HQ 5:15-5:30 to get up to points north.

Dec. 10th (Dallas, BCS, Honolulu): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

2018 MARATHONS

Jan 7th (Disney): 10-14 mile recovery long run. Back off a bit from last week. Start time 5:45am.

Jan 14th (Houston, Louisiana): 12-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 16 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Feb 18th (Austin): 9-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

BEGINNER GAZELLES, HALF MARATHONERS, and EVERYBODY ELSE:

Beginner Gazelles! This week, 3-7 miles. Choose a distance amongst your pace pals, up to that 7 mile max. Start time 6:30am.

Everybody Else (GZLs peeps): 7-12 miles. If you went 12 last week, maybe cut back to 7-10 this week. For anything else, add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile mark. Start time 5:45am.

Oct. 29th (Houston Half): Taper Madness Week 3. 4-8 miles w/ last 3 @ HMGP. Easy rolling start, with last 3 miles at race pace. Start time 6:30am.

Nov. 5th (RFTW): 10-12 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 12 mile max. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 12th (Las Vegas, S. Padre, FW Half): Taper Madness Begins. 8-13 miles w/ last 5 @ HMGP. Easy rolling start, with last 5 miles at race pace. Start time 5:45am.

Nov. 18th (Philly Half): 11-16 miles. Add 1-2 miles to your last longer long run, up to that 14 mile max. Start time 5:45am.
