What prompted you to join Gazelles and when did you join?
I joined in the fall of 2007 to train for the 2008 Austin Marathon. I had never run a marathon and was registered for an Ironman that summer, so I needed to prepare.
Which group do you run with?
M/W 5:30 a.m.
What's your favorite workout and why?
Track work because I can count down the laps and see the finish line.
How has Gazelles changed your running/life?
When I start my day with Gazelles, I’m more productive and always in a better mood! I’m grateful for the Gazelle family that Gilbert has created. I am also grateful that when I’ve taken extended breaks (I’ve had two kids), I’m always welcomed back.
What’s your favorite Gilbert-ism or best story about him?
“Everybody deserves lane one.” Gilbert is not only a great coach, he’s an awesome people-person. He makes sure new people feel welcome and that everybody feels confident.
