My Mommy Runs is a hardcover children’s book that empowers runners to share the transformative power of running with children. The book features 26 pages of powerful messages and engaging illustrations that children and parents can enjoy together. From selfies to perseverance, from friendship to priorities; My Mommy Runs unpacks critical life lessons that running develops in ways that children can understand and strive for themselves.

What prompted you to join Gazelles and when did you join?
I joined the Gazelles because they had a reputation like no other group in Austin. I had run with a couple of other groups in both Dallas and Austin. I always heard if you want to run fast, you join the Gazelles. Finally, I got up the nerve and joined. I'm grateful that I did.

Which group do you run with?
I run with the T/Th 5:30am group

What's your favorite workout and why?
I love anything at the track. The 2400, Yassos, ladder workouts, circuit, etc. There's something about the discipline of not overrunning when your at the track, and that view of downtown coming around that final turn just gets me every time.

How has Gazelles changed your running/life?
In ways that I never thought possible. Everyone says this, but Gilbert and the group of Gazelles I run with know how to unlock potential simply through their belief in you. The passion, drive, discipline, humor, and support is like no other group I've ever been a part of. Running with Gazelles has taken my running (and fitness) to a level that I would've said was beyond insane only a few years ago.

What’s your favorite Gilbert-ism or best story about him?
I love that everyone says Mount Bonnell, but Gilbert never forgets the extra "ain" in calling it "Mountain" Bonnell. My favorite personal story about Gilbert happened this last season. I ran my 2400m in an 8:53, and was pretty excited about the time. A few weeks later there was another one on the calendar. Gilbert told the group that if we had already run one this season, it would be ok because some of us needed to redeem ourselves from that first run. He was looking right at me when he said it. It totally cracked me up. I couldn't stop laughing on the warm-up run to the track, but you know what? He was right. I ran that 2400n in 8:39. Never doubt Gilbert's faith in you.....
