New Intro to Gazelles Session starts March 2

Our next session for new (beginner level) Gazelles starts this Saturday with a Welcome Session at Gazelles HQ. This is a Q&A session to learn about our Intro class and how it will prepare you for regular Gazelles training groups. If you know of anyone wanting to start running or come back after a long break, let them know about Intro to Gazelles!

Join Coach Gilbert for 25 Wilkes this Friday! (Yes, really 25)

Every year for Amplify Austin—a day of giving to local nonprofits—Gilbert runs a crazy amount of Wilkes to encourage donations to the Gazelle Foundation. This year, coach will be running 25 Wilkes in commemoration of his escape from genocide 25 years ago.

Join Gilbert this Friday, March 1st at 6:00 am to run a few supportive Wilke hills, and help the Gazelle Foundation continue to transform lives by providing access to clean water. If hills aren't your thing, you can still come out and be a part of the cheering section!

What prompted you to join Gazelles and when did you join?
I joined the Gazelles in the summer of 2017. I had been running solo for years but was interested in having my form evaluated. My plan was to do a few workouts and then go back to running solo. Two years later and I'm still here!

Which group do you run with?
Tuesday/Thursday at 5:30 pm. The coolest group of all.

What's your favorite workout and why?
Hands down it is Wilke in the rain. My very first Gazelle workout was Wilke in the rain and at the time I thought I'd lost my mind for joining this group. It is also a mental exercise for me. I tell myself, hey girl of course you want to go run up a giant hill in the rain - let's do this!!

How has Gazelles changed your running/life?
Gazelles has changed my running in many ways. However, I think the most meaningful way has been that I now prefer running with my group instead of solo with my headphones on. I've had my best, toughest runs with those guys.

What’s your favorite Gilbert-ism or best story about him?
Oh man there just isn't enough space for this. You know, Gilbert is secretly into style and fashion. He one time wore my fancy pink Krewe sunglasses during one of our workouts!
