Sunday Yoga Class starting June 3rd
Free for all Gazelles
We are pleased to announce another great cross-training option for our Gazelle membership! Every Sunday, Angelena (Angie) Stokes-Wickersham will lead the group through a gentle yoga practice to recover from the running week. All levels are welcome. No previous yoga experience required. Please bring your own mat.
Hatha Yin is a great way to wind down and recover from your long run. Enjoy gentle movement and floor postures. Yin yoga invites you to slow down for a grounding a cooling practice. Passive stretches allow you to work deeper into the connective tissues of the body, such as ligaments and fascia. Poses are held up to five minutes, sometimes longer. This class will focus on hips, low back, IT band, shoulders, and the psoas.
Angie has been living in Austin since 2008 and running with Gazelles since 2009. A regular at the Tuesday/Thursday 5:30pm group, she ran her first marathon at 19 years old. Since then, long distance running has been a constant in her life. Her annual runs include Austin Marathon/Half Marathon, Run for the Water, and Keep Austin Weird. When she is not running, you can find her at Barton Springs, dancing two-step at The White Horse, or in the studio teaching one of her many yoga classes around town. Angie is a joyful spirit and her carefree nature make it easy to cultivate a connection.
