EAS/RunTex Run for the Water a Smashing Success

The EAS/RunTex Run for the Water on Sunday November 11, 2007 attracted more than 1800 participants from around the country and helped the Gazelle Foundation raise over $20,000 toward its goal of funding water wells in Burundi.
Race day consisted of a 10-mile race, 5K fun run and kids K. Derek Yorek took down Bernard Manirakiza in the final mile to win the 10 miler, while Chris Kimbrough was first female across the line, besting Desiree Ficker.
